Our philosophy
At Blue Iris Acupuncture, care begins with you. We take a holistic approach — considering the physical, emotional, and mental factors behind how you feel — and design a treatment plan tailored to your body and your goals.
Drawing on thousands of years of East Asian medicine, every session is calm, precise, and unhurried. The aim is simple: lasting balance, and a body that feels like yours again.

I came in for chronic neck pain I had carried for years. After a handful of sessions I finally have full, easy range of motion again — and I sleep better, too.
Easily the most calming hour of my week. The care is genuinely personal, never rushed, and I leave feeling completely reset.
I was nervous about needles, but I barely felt a thing. The whole experience is warm, professional, and spotless. I recommend Blue Iris to everyone.

Call 212·349·9500Most people feel little to nothing. The needles are about the width of a hair, far finer than the ones used for injections. You may notice a brief, dull heaviness at a point, which usually settles into a calm, grounded feeling.
It depends on what we are treating and how long it has been present. Acute issues can shift in a few visits; longer-standing patterns are usually treated over a course of weekly sessions. You will get an honest estimate at your first visit.
Your first visit lasts about 75 minutes. We review your health history, discuss your goals, take pulse and tongue readings, and complete your first treatment. Wear comfortable, loose clothing.
Acupuncture is covered by some plans. We are happy to provide a detailed superbill you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. Please reach out with questions before your visit.
