Warming, never burning — always to your comfort
WARMTH DRAWN INTO THE POINT
About this treatment

Moxibustion is the warming side of East Asian medicine. Dried mugwort is smouldered just above the skin to send gentle, penetrating heat into specific points — deeply comforting, and especially good for cold, achy, or depleted patterns.

It is often combined with acupuncture in the same 30-minute visit. The warmth is soothing and always kept to your comfort, never touching the skin.

We work out of 139 Fulton Street, in the Financial District of New York City. Moxa runs Monday through Friday; book online.

Warmth and needles together

Moxa is often paired with acupuncture — the needles direct the treatment while the warmth deepens circulation and eases cold, stubborn tension in the same visit.

The mugwort herb

Moxa is made from dried mugwort, used for centuries to warm and move. Its gentle, fragrant heat is what makes moxibustion feel so comforting and grounding.

Good to know

No — the mugwort never touches the skin. You feel a pleasant, radiant warmth, and we adjust it constantly to your comfort.

There is a little fragrant smoke and a herbal aroma. We keep the room well ventilated, and a smokeless option is available if you prefer.

A 30-minute moxibustion session is $70. Added to a 50-minute acupuncture visit, the two are billed separately: $70 and $110.
